*Using the Cruise Control:
The Cruise control switch acts as MapSwitching when car is moving with a speed of less than 10km/h and rpm is less than 1500. In any other case, meaning that the car is moving faster than 10km/h and the engine revs more than 1500rpm, cruise control swith functions as Cruise Control.
*Using acceleration + brake pedals:
Changing ECU programs is done with a combination of acceleration and brake pedals. This system is suggested to cars that are not equipped with Cruise Control.
The EPC light or the rev counter show us the map that we are using, eg:
1000rpm -- map1
2000rpm-- map2
3000rpm-- map3
How is it possible 3 different programms to exist in the factory ECU?
The binary file of the factory ECU is about 60-70% written. So there is about 30-40% of free space inside the flash memory. That is where we put the extra code with the rest of the 3 programs.
